A Decade of Dance Ownership: My journey took an exciting turn when I founded a competitive dance studio, Inspire Dance Company, in Miami, Florida. For an incredible decade, my studio consistently achieved the title of National Champions. It was a time of growth, innovation, and profound learning for both me and my talented dancers. The studio was sold in December of 2022.
Choreography Awards and Innovations: Throughout my career, I've been honored with numerous choreography awards. These accolades reflect my commitment to pushing the boundaries of creativity and my dedication to teaching dance as both an art form and a way of life.
Bringing Back Intentionality: But, there came a point when I noticed a shift in the dance world. The emphasis seemed to be shifting away from the heart of dance - the precision, the intentionality, and the artistry. It became clear that it was time to bring back these essential elements.
Performance Dynamics - A Dream Realized: This realization led to the birth of Performance Dynamics. I founded this program with a vision - to rekindle intentionality in dance and empower dancers to showcase their technical knowledge through precise, intentional movement.
What Makes My Approach Unique: What truly sets my teaching approach apart is my unwavering commitment to precision, an acute attention to detail, and a profound focus on intentional placement. While many may prioritize jumps, tricks, and turns, I prioritize every step and every movement in between.
The art of dance is about movement. Other skills are important and impressive, and they too take commitment and hard-work to attain, but if we continue to prioritize other skills above movement, we'll be losing out on the heart of it all.
